Gary L. Rogers

Gary Lane Rogers, 62 passed away peacefully with family at his side at the Duke Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, North Carolina on August 18, 2019

  Gary was born April 1, 1957 in Roxboro, NC the son of Ruffin and Clara (Lee) Rogers. He was a previous resident of Murdoch Center in Butner, Ralph Scott Life Services in Burlington, and a current resident of Person County Group Homes.

  Gary enjoyed spending time with family and eating good food. No one's food was off limits to Gary. Gary was a joy to be around. He liked listening to music and going on short walks with family members and staff. Gary was the "Apple of His Mother's Eye." She catered to his voracious appetite and stressed to each member of the family to always "Take Care of Gary."

  Gary was preceded in death by his father Ruffin and his mother Clara. He is survived by 5 loving siblings, Larry Rogers (Jackie) of Winston-Salem NC, Marva Jeffries (James) of Milton, NC, Edith Farmer (David) of Milton, Arnold Rogers (Lisa) of Walkertown, NC, and one step-sister Eva Cunningham of Middlesex, NJ.  

   He is lovingly remembered by 4 Aunts Eugenia Bing, Marie Williams, Annie (Louise) Moore, Helma Pass and one Uncle Charles (Lingbergh) Rogers.

    He is affectionately thought of by 3 nephews, Darron Jeffries, Tyler Farmer, and Brandon Rogers. As well as 3 nieces, Stephanie Rogers, Garrison Thomas, and Sydnie Rogers. Gary leaves behind 3 great nephews Taelor Guptil, Jacques Bittings and Jalen Bittings. Gary has one great niece Marley Farmer and a host of cousins and friends.
