Woodrow Wilson Poteat, 67, passed away on May 12, 2019 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro. He was the son of the late Nathaniel Poteat and Lucretia Moore Poteat. He loved music. He was an anointed singer. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening. He also raised hogs. He made recurve bows and was an artist.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife: Olivia Diane Poteat of the home; three children: Dr. Terry Woodrow Poteat of Jamestown, NC, Tina Poteat Parker of Greensboro and Tamara Winstead (Nick) of Roxboro; five grandchildren: Brittiny, Taye, Joshua, Syncere, Imani and Sebastian; four brothers: Michael Poteat of Danville, Alexander "Jimmy" Poteat of Elon, David Poteat (Sue) of Yanceyville, Marvin "Johnny" Poteat (Sandra) of Greensboro; three sisters: Florence Scott of Blanch, Margaret McGhee of Mebane and Bettie Jane Merriman of Woodbridge, VA; and a host of relatives, family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings: Delois Brown, Patricia Poteat and Edward "Bruce" Poteat.
