Adelheid “Heidi” Nottingham was born in Altlussheim, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany to Otto Bloeser and Martha Schmitt on April 4, 1946 and passed away peacefully on May 5, 2023.
Heidi grew up in a tiny German village called Sichenhausen near the town of Schotten in Hessen, Germany. As a child, Heidi was a lover of all farm animals and often told stories of saving baby animals such as chicks and kittens. She also helped work in her family’s guesthouse where she eventually met her husband Alton “Bill” Nottingham, an American Army soldier. Heidi and Bill married and Heidi served as a military spouse for the extent of her husband’s military service until retirement. Heidi’s wit and determination led her through life and she made many friends and fostered many animals along the way.
Heidi is survived by her husband of 56 years Bill Nottingham; her children Sandra Nottingham-Wolf, Pat Nottingham, and Bill Nottingham; her grandchildren Kevin Weber, Patrick Rolvien, Rebecca Atkinson, Christopher Frank, Cheyenne Filipancic, Daniel Frank, Joshua Mueller, Cody Nottingham, Ana Nottingham, Terron Millsap, Amanda Argetsinger; and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Otto and Martha and her daughter Katherine McCarty.
