Arthur Harold Standfield

Arthur Harold Standfield, age 78, of Milton, NC passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC.

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was born in Halifax County, VA on April 26, 1942 to the late James Standfield and the late Minerva Jeffress Standfield.  He was educated in the Person County School System and graduated from Person County High School.   He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the Greater Brandon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Alton, VA where he faithfully served as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Trustee Ministry, Past Chairman of the Finance Ministry, President of the Male Chorus, a member of the Illuminating Choir, Sunday School and the Church Anniversary Committee.   

His inspiring legacy of life will be remembered by his devoted daughters, Doris Marinetta Standfield Thompson of Richmond, VA, Erica Standfield Brandon (Michael) of Reidsville, NC, four grandchildren whom he absolutely loved and adored, Rickey Thompson, II of Glendale, CA, Karson Thompson of Windermere, FL, Justice Brandon, and Jordan Brandon both of Reidsville, NC, one loyal brother, Overseer Floyd C. Standfield (Juanita) of Milton, NC, two loyal sisters, Mary Flora (Earl) of Montclair, NJ, Doris Hughes (Woodrow) of Newark, NJ, a loving God-daughter, Pamela Carter Goins (Bernard) of  Gibsonville, NC, a special father-in-law George McCain of Danville, VA, two brothers-in-law, John McCain and Minister Malcolm McCain (Laverne) both of Greensboro, NC, one sister-in-law, Rose Standfield, a special niece, nephew, and adopted sons whom he helped to rear, Felecia Kinsler (Hinton) of Newark, NJ, Tony Standfield (Wanda) of Danville VA, Wayne Clayborne (Brenda) of Milton, NC, and Willie Royster of Danville, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Lula Mae McCain Standfield, his son, Arthur Harold Standfield, Jr., his brother, James Sewell Standfield, his sister, Louella Robinson, and two brothers-in-law, George McCain, Jr. and Minister James McCain.  He is now rejoicing with them in heaven.  We thank God for a life well lived!
