Brandon Hollowell Obituary

On Friday, November 8th at 5:06 AM, the Lord took our precious, beloved Brandon home with Him. Brandon Jamal Hollowell was born on September 5th, 1998 in Prince George County, Maryland, to Arleen Crews-Hollowell and Robert Charles Hollowell, Sr.  

Brandon confessed his belief in Christ at an early age.  He was baptized by Rev. Melvin Fuller and became a member of White Oak Grove Baptist Church, Sutherlin, VA . In 2009, he became a member of Right Touch Christian Church, Danville VA.  Brandon was active member in the Youth Ministry and back-up drummer.

Brandon was a humble, quiet and gentle storm.  He loved his family and friends and to him Family was everything!  Brandon enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially Ayonna, Joe, Caitlin, Tommy “TJ”., Tony, Eric, Shanetta, Jawan, Greg, Liz, Ricky “Ricklard”, Amber and Tyleik.  All the children loved Brandon because he picked on them and they enjoyed every minute of it!! He was known for nicknaming and horse playing with Serenity (always trying to keep her out of trouble) Taliyah “Tater Tot”, DeAndre (His shadow), Quoia, Qobi, Mariah, Trey, Laila-Rose, Bryson, Michai, Jamarion, Jeremy, Jacoby, Jashawn and Jnick. 

Brandon was also known for picking at his beloved Grandmother and would call her “Fannie Margaret Eldridge Buck Crews” while playing in her hair and wearing her purple Senior Citizens coat. He loved his four-legged son, Kane- his Blue Pit Bull Puppy.  Brandon was an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan despite how well their season went- Dallas Cowboys was his team! His other passion was fishing - pond, lake or sea, Brandon thought he was a Bass Pro Champion even if he only caught catfish.

Brandon was a 2016 graduate of Dan River High school and attended Norfolk State University. He played football, track, basketball and wrestling, where he won a state championship his Senior Year at Dan River High School. He was employed by UPS- Greensboro, NC and had just become a permanent employee.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memories, two Sisters- Ayonna Hollowell and Serenity Hollowell of the home, brother-Robert Hollowell, Jr, Toledo, OH, Maternal Grandmother,-Fannie M. Crews of the home, Paternal Grandmother- Barbara Johnson Hollowell, Toledo, OH, Paternal Grandfather, Leon Hollowell(Barbara) of Toledo, OH . Maternal Uncles: Tommy Crews (Monica) Milton, NC, Gregory Crews, Atlanta, GA. Maternal Aunts: Deborah Neal, Krisi Crews-Mayo (Quentin) both of Danville, VA. Paternal Uncles: Keith Hollis, Toledo, OH, Chris Barnett (Dionise), Leon Hollowell (Theresa), Waldorf, MD.  Paternal Aunts: Deana Glover, &, Kim Savage, Toledo, OH.  Sonya Williams (Kevin) OH, Valerie Barnett, Toledo, OH. One Niece, Zariyah Hollowell, Toledo, OH. Two nephews: Robert Hollowell, III, Ro’Melo Hollowell both of Toledo, OH.  Loving and devoted God Parents Tonya and Quran Clark.  The angel of his heart; his God Daughter, Ke’lani Robertson. A devoted brother and best friend Jawan Robertson (Amber). A devoted and caring friend Heather Showalter.  Adopted Grandparents- Overseer Floyd and Juanita Standfield. Adopted Aunt, Joyce Samuel. He was predeceased in death by his Maternal Grandfather Frissell Owen Crews and First Cousin, Tomica Nicole Crews.  He also leaves a host of loving and dedicated great aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
