Carmella Barbara Mims, 85, transitioned on February 3, 2020 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 1, 1934 to the late Ivory Chalmers and Roberta Richardson Chalmers. She was married to the late James “Jack” Mims.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She loved to cook and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her three daughters: Melody Henderson (Robert) of Ruffin, Phyllis Mims and Jacqueline Mims both of Yanceyville, one brother: Harvey Chalmers of Danville, grandchildren: Nikki Turner, Bridget Turner, Ebony Henderson, Jamie Henderson, Darius Mims and Jasmine Henderson; great grandchildren: Bri-Kell Averett, Bria Turner, Kylee Moorman and Brooklyn Henderson, a sister in law: Florine Mims Shoffner of Greensboro and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her children: Kenneth Mims and Keith Mims, one grandchild: Jermaine Henderson and one brother: Eugene Chalmers.
