Elder Charles William Hampton Sr was born July 23, 1955 to the late Mary Emma White Hampton and the late Charlie William Grasty. A loving stepfather James E Hampton Sr. He was educated in the Danville Public School System and Gretna High School.
He was employed with Danville Iron and Metal, Richmond Cedar Work, Marshall Ready Mix, Apac and J.W.Squire.
He was of the Apostolic Faith. He was a member of Christ Temple Apostolic under the leader ship of Elder Willie Adams, Bishop Robert L Tapper and Pastor Troy Nevells. He later started working in other Ministries, Cathedral Of Praise, Greater United Apostolic, Rema Christian Center, God’s Way Ministries. He also did Prison Ministry at the Danville City Jail, The Danville City Farm, and W.W.Moore after doing that then
He began doing street Ministry. Everywhere he went he told everyone about the Lord. No matter where he went he didn’t leave until he ministered to someone. Everyone loved Mr. Charles.
Charles was also a Semi Pro Boxer he loved training the children to box. He also loved helping his nephew Marcus Luck at the Luck’s Boxing Gym with the children learning to box.
Charles leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife of 36 years Jennifer Hampton of the residence. Charles leaves behind nine children five daughters and four sons DeLane Townes-Logan (Logan), Tonya Hamlett both of Danville VA, Veronica Blunt of Northern VA, LeJenifer Hampton-Poole (Eric) of Greensboro NC, Charles Hampton Jr, Chara Hampton Lawrence Hampton, David Hampton, and Daniel Hampton all of Danville VA. Charles also leaves Five sisters and one brother. Winifred Rice, Camilla Coles, James E Hampton Jr (Patricia), Gloria H. Hairston (Gene), Sonta Reid, Malet Woods (Terrell) all of Danville VA. He leaves a beautiful mother-n- law Fannie McCain. He also leaves 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Charles also leaves a host of sister’s and brother -n- laws and nieces and nephews. He leaves behind a special niece Jamie Thorton.
