Clarence Stephens Alfred Sr., transitioned from this earthly life on November 21, 2024 at his home in Danville, VA. He was born on September 4, 1938 to the late William D. Stephens and Eunice Stephens Swann in Caswell County, North Carolina.
He was married to Shirley Grassy Stephens and to this union two children were born: Clarence A. Stephens Jr. of the home and Cheryl Libby Stephens who preceded him in death.
He joined High Rock Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and attended faithfully until his health declined. He attended Caswell County Schools and after graduation, he joined the Army and served in Korea.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Clarence A. Stephens Jr., a devoted caretaker, his granddaughter Kameka Johnson, one brother Kenneth Swann of Washington D.C., two sisters: Kim Stephens of Washington D.C. and Queen Jones of McCleansville, NC and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
