Douglas MacArthur Rone, 76, passed away from this life at home on July 23rd, 2020. Affectionately known as “Booney”, Douglas was the fourth child born of the union of his parents, Allen Rone and Bettie Ann Elizabeth Harrison Barnett Rone.
Douglas received his formal education in Caswell County. Yet, his true passion was anything outdoors. A farmer all of his life, he also enjoyed gardening and landscaping. He was never afraid of hard work and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his sister and anyone in need, often mentioning the peacefulness of it all. And he was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Druscilla Rone Lea (Jerry), and one sister-in-law, Alice Barnett, and a tremendous host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the following siblings: Catherine Rone Allen Mock Garrett, Daisy Rone Miles Rosado, Annie Bailey Rone Allen and Joseph Rone; and Nellie, Ada, Ola, Estella, Della, Harvey, Robert, David, Henry, and Louis Rone; and Rebecca, Fletcher, Wallace and Arbia Barnett.
Douglas lived a quiet, simple life and loved and greatly cared about all of his family and friends. And, in turn, he was greatly loved and cared about and will be greatly missed.
