Garrett Anthony Fitz was born in Danville, VA on January 18, 1962. He was educated in the Danville Public School system. He was employed at Columbia Flooring for 8 years and later at Gildan in Eden, NC.
Early in life he excelled in sports, he played basketball, baseball and softball with Mt. Cross Allstars. He was a triple threat well known as “Big Cat”. He was very outspoken and kept everyone laughing with his sense of humor, funny jokes and elaborate stories. Garrett’s hobbies included collecting guns, zombie movies, fishing, sports, scooters and bikes.
He leaves to cherish his memories his mother- Bishop Lovelean Fitz, daughters- LaTarsha West, Tikia Fallen, Taishi Fallen, R’Dahlia Traynham, Mildred “Star” Traynham, Zagi Traynham and 2 sons all of Danville, VA. Two brothers- Jesse “peewee” Fitz, Darryl “fish man” Fitz three sisters -Renee Jackson, Diann “bird” Fitz Waller, Tiffany” black bear”poo” Fitz all of Danville VA. Grandchildren- Iarion West, Atavian Fallen, J’kavien Fallen, Kaidence Fallen, Jamir Fallen, Gabriel Fallen, Khai Fallen. One great grandbaby on the way Kingston Harris. Nephews- Montae Jackson, Jesse McKeither, Ridge McKeither, Shawntae Fitz, Jawon Martin and on other nephew Neices- Marquita McKeither, Brittany Jackson, Latia Waller, Janequia Martin, Dekirah McKeither.
He was predeceased by his father Elmer Fitz Jr. His maternal grandparents Henry and Josephine Redd his paternal grandparents Elmer Fitz Sr. and Naomi Fitz all of Danville, VA
