Mrs. Ida Graves Kimber, 94, transitioned in Alamance County on July 29, 2023. Mrs. Ida was born on December 14, 1928 to the late John Wesley Graves and Mary Erma Oliver Graves in Caswell County.
Mrs. Ida loved the Lord. She was a member of Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church. She served in the Senior Choir, the Missionary Circle and the Culinary Staff Committee.
She was employed for several years at Bartlett Yancey High School where she served in the cafeteria. She would often bring a smile to the face of students with her sweet and mother like demeanor.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters: Sadie H. Stanfield of Burlington and Mary Frances Houston of Greensboro; two sisters: Mattie Graves Love of Danville, and Katie Graves Holman of Harrisburg, PA, nine grandchildren, thirty four great grandchildren, fourteen great great grandchildren and a host of relatives, family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lorenzo Kimber, son Lorenzo Kimber Jr., two sisters: Helen Graves Murray and Margaret Graves Garland and three brothers: John Wesley Graves, David Allen Graves and James Graves.
