James Lee Rothwell, a longtime resident of Milton, passed away to his home in glory early in the morning on October, 12, 2022.
James, the youngest of five children of Charlie and Hallie Rothwell, was born August 20, 1942 in Scotland County, North Carolina and educated in the schools there.
He attended God’s Blessing Center Church in Milton, where he served many years as a deacon and sang in the choir.
James leaves behind a daughter, Cynthia Brown, of Greensboro, N.C.; sisters, Hallie Morris (Oscar), of Greensboro, N.C., Veraleine and Mary Jane McDugal, of Maxton, N.C.; two grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, along with cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, October 18 at Blackwell Funeral Home, 143 Third Street in Yanceyville. Visitation begins at 10 a.m.; service at 10:30 a.m. Masks required.
