Joseph Sterling Lawson, affectionately known as “Wildman” passed away on May 9, 2019 at the age of 66. He was born on January 20, 1953 in Halifax County to the late John Batts and Suzie Lawson.
Wildman enjoyed fishing, talking junk and he loved his dogs. He loved his children and was an excellent provider. He also loved to spend time with his grandkids.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Josephine Stovall (Cornelius), Barbara Lawson, Lakisha Lawson, Tasha Hamlette, Quincy Venable and Antonio Hodge; step children: Ladenna Howerton, Monte Watkins and Joseph Watkins; a sister: Lottie Blane; devoted friends: Archie Lee Graves, and Phyllis; devoted nephew: Walter Bruce; 25 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a god daughter: Datera, and a host of relatives, family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children: Sylvia Lawson and Sharon Lawson, two sisters and three brothers; one great grandchild: Khaderean and one devoted friend: Roscoe.
