Margaret Louise Singletary, 86 was called home to be with our Lord on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Ancora Compassionate Care. Ms. Margaret was born December 28, 1938, in Caswell County, NC to John and Edna Blackwell. Ms. Margaret was a sister, beloved mother, precious aunt, and devout Nana. She was a beacon of love, wisdom, and kindness to all who knew her. Her greatest joy was her family, she was the glue that held everyone together, always with her gentle voice of reason. When you looked at her, she reflected back your better self, and you felt better for it.
Ms. Margaret resided in Morristown, NJ until retirement, upon which she decided it was time to move south to be closer to family and the quiet life. Later in life, she became an amazing caregiver to her elderly patients. She made a point to live life for family, neighbors and community as a happiness magnet. Her infectious smile, twinkling eyes, and contagious smile made her unforgettable to everyone she met. She always made introductions by saying, “that’s your cousin.”
Ms. Margaret is survived by her beloved children Dean Moore (Mack), Lemar, Jr., Janet Jackson, Sekena Singletary (Johnny). Her sister, Ann Blackwell, nephew Eric Blackwell, and cherished aunt Elizabeth Jones, as well as many cousins. Ms. Margaret is also survived by her most treasured gifts, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Erica, Brittany, Miles, Anjelica, Shaquor, Jaeland, Jazman, Isaiah, Mack Jr, Tyler, Empress, Laila, Hailey, Egypt, and Josiah.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Lemar Singletary, Sr., her parents John and Edna Blackwell, daughter Kelly Bass, son Dwight Singletary, brother Bobby Blackwell, and granddaughter, Monica White.
