Mark Anthony (Tony) Shore was born on January 26, 1961, the firstborn son of John
and Georgia Shore. Always a hard worker, he worked on the Kimber farm and be-
came one that our grandfather, Johnie Kimber, depended on to assist in completing
the strenuous farming chores. Tony was the rugged outdoors type, and his love for
nature and adventure was evident in his fondness for dogs and guns. He was a hard
worker and wasn’t afraid of getting dirty if the price was right.
Tony graduated from Barlett Yancey Senior High School. After graduation, he imme-
diately went to work. He worked several jobs over the years, from cooking to restau-
rant management. After about 15 years, Tony found the job that allowed him the
desired freedom. Tony became a truck driver and drove for almost 30 years. One of
his sayings was if I’m not rolling, I’m not making money. Day after day and mile after
mile, Tony would fight across the highways.
15 months ago, Tony was told he had to fight for his life. True to his nature, he ap-
proached this battle with the same positive attitude and confidence he brought to
everything he did. Despite his best efforts, on the morning of June 16th, God called
him to his kingdom.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Georgia K. Shore, and his brother, Tyrone C.
Shore.
He is survived by his father, Rev. John Shore Jr. (Eunice) of New Jersey; his wife, Ber-
nadette Shore, of Lubbock, TX; his children, Latoya McCain of Blanch, NC, and Ash-
leyKannya Ellis (Jermiah) of Yanceyville, NC. Shawn and Tyla Shore of Winston Salem,
Zerrick Shore (Graciela) of Winston Salem, and Autumn Nuckols of Indianapolis, IN;
and two brothers, Thaddeus (Toemekia) of Greensboro and Edwin Keith Shore of
Caswell County; one sister, Robbin Miller (William) of Delaware. Eight Grandkids and
one great grandchild, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and associates.
