Michael “Winkie” “Bo Tight” Wayne Graves died at SOVAH Health on June 4, 2020 in
Danville, Virginia at the age of 66.
Michael is survived by his mother, Ida Bell Graves White; his siblings: Arlene Irby, Karen
Waddell, Ernest White, Jr., Lisa Jacobs (Joey), Brenda Beard, Tony White (Belinda), Sharon
Carter (Donald) and Corey White; his children: Kedra Glenn (Melvin) and Michael Price; his
granddaughter, Brittany Crews; and his partner, Teresa Jennings. He was a loving uncle to
a host of nieces and nephews and an endearing cousin to many. He is predeceased by his
father, Ernest White, Sr., his grandparents and each of his aunts and uncles.
Michael was born on April 2, 1954 in Pittsylvania County to Ernest White, Sr. and Ida Bell
Graves White. He graduated from Dan River High School in 1972 where he was a gifted
drummer on his high school’s drumline. He was a loyal and devoted employee of Southern
Process for over 40 years.
Michael was known for his humble and fun-loving spirit. His camel walk dance always
placed him at the center of attention. His family and friends will cherish these loving
memories in their hearts forever.
A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Burial
Park in Danville, Virginia. Reverend Voight Hairston will officiate the ceremony. Flowers,
