Ozzie James Washington was born 2/5/1948 to the late Luther and Auruya Leek-Washington in
Trussville Alabama.
As a young man he served his country wholeheartedly within the United
States Army. He, along with his wife Carol (Predeceased) would eventually call
Danville/Ringgold Va. home where he worked for Dan River Mills until its closure. James also
had two sisters, Linda and Lynelle Leek, both of Alabama, who predeceased him in life.
James, also lovingly known as Curley, leaves behind to cherish his memory a lifelong love,
Karen Waddell, in which they shared two daughters Tanya Waddell and Trellis Waddell, both of
Danville, Va. and a son, Tyson Waddell (Shantay) of Phafftown, NC. Grandsons: Tyson Jr.,
Assante, Nisere, Savior, Zaire, Jayvion, Hassan, Tristan and Tru, one granddaughter, Sareignity
(whom he called Sugafoot) who were the light of his life and his bonus family in love members:
Arlene, Ernest Jr, Lisa, Joey, Brenda, Tony, Sheron, Corey and Ida White. He is also survived by
a brother, Lorenzo Harris of Alabama, a nephew, Antonio Marquis Harris and niece, Quianna
Chanel Harris both of Virginia. Three cousins, Robert Hunter Jr, Maurice Hunter and Ronnie
Woods, all of Alabama. He also, by way of his wife Carol, leaves behind a niece that he loved
as a daughter, Tamara. James aka Curley possessed a kindred to all spirit so he will be greatly
missed by a host of family and friends near and far.
