Raymond James Thomas Jr.

Raymond James Thomas Jr., 82, transitioned on April 25, 2021 at Pine Forest Rest Home. He was born in Pittsylvania County on April 7, 1939 to the late Raymond James Thomas Sr. and Mattie Lou McLaughlin Thomas. He was married to the late Mary Harrison Thomas.

He worked for Dan River Mills for several years and later worked for the Dibrell Tobacco Company.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his grandchildren: Antwoin, Antonio and Antony Thomas; his siblings: Barbara Jeffries (Jeremiah) of Milton, NC, Audrey Green (Sam) and Bernice Watson both of Rochester, New York, Jeanette Thomas of Jamaica, New York and Eugene Thomas of Danville, VA; five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son: Anthony Thomas and his siblings: Jealier Fitzgerald, Virginia McCain, Dorothy Yates, Jane Thomas, Lawrence Thomas and Wade Leon Thomas.

Funeral services will be held on at 2pm on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Bethel Baptist Church- Danville. Viewing will be held from 12-2pm with the family receiving visitors from 1-2pm.
