Roy Linberg Fitzgerald Sr.

Roy Linberg Fitzgerald, Sr. was born on September 30, 1948, to the late Dillard Fitzgerald, Jr. and Rebecca Lovelace Fitzgerald in Danville, VA.  He departed his earthly life to be with the Lord on November 10, 2023, at the home of his daughter in Yanceyville, NC. 

Roy loved fishing, watching westerns, and family cookouts.  He enjoyed Quartet Singing.  His favorite saying was “Ain’t Nun to It”.  Roy loved spending time with his family and loved them dearly.

Roy leaves behind to cherish his memories, sons, Roy Fitzgerald, Jr., and Michael Fitzgerald both of Yanceyville; daughters, Jeanette Brandon of Maryland, and Pastor Sherrie Fitzgerald Paylor (Jonathan) of Yanceyville, NC; brother, David Lee Fitzgerald (Kay) of Danville, VA; sisters, Lisa Fitzgerald, and Shirley Fitzgerald both of Chatham, VA and, Joann Fitzgerald Smith (Carl) of Danville, VA; 25 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives, family and friends.

 Other than both parents Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Martin Fitzgerald; brothers, Thomas Fitzgerald, and Dillard Fitzgerald; sisters, Clara Martin, Virginia Woody, Darlene Martin, and Eula Younger.
