Tinsley Brandon Jr., fondly known as Buddy, was born to the late Tinsley Brandon Sr. and Dorothy Thornton Brandon on February 10, 1935, in Halifax County, VA. He peacefully passed away in Branford, CT on March 15, 2023.
Buddy received formal education through the North Carolina School System. He was soft-spoken and kind, enjoyed the outdoors and tinkering with electronics. Buddy retired from the New York City Transit Authority Jackie Gleason Bus Depot, Brooklyn, NY in 1995, although he continued to work for the Danville School Bus Company in Danville, VA until 2012.
Buddy is survived by two daughters from his marriage to Delores Brandon, Lamindy Brandon-Joseph, Latanya Temika Brandon, and a son-in-law, Dwayne Joseph. He is also survived by two grandsons, Ketay J. Brandon and Damien I. Joseph, two brothers and one sister-in-law, Samuel J. Brandon and Julius Arrell and Cheryl Brandon, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Edgar ‘Punchie’ Bellfield Jr., and four sisters, Dorothy Bellfield Jones, Rachel Ozanor ‘Ozie’ Brandon, Carolyn Brandon, and Glossie Darlene Brandon Griffin.
