Wayne Anthony Wharton

Wayne Anthony Wharton, 61, transitioned on June 10, 2024 in Danville, Virginia. He was born on June 16, 1962 to the late Charles Wharton and Violet Ingram Wharton. 

He was a graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School and went on to serve in the United States Army. 

He leaves to cherish his memory, a brother Barry Ruffin and a sister Hattie Cradle both of Danville as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: William Ruffin, Clifton Wharton and Larry Wharton , and sisters Christine Ruffin and Deborah Johnson.
